About Me
_____
I work as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have been supporting clients since 2014. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Portland State University and a master’s degree in clinical counseling at Palo Alto University, which included a year of specialty training in transpersonal psychology. Before starting my work as a counselor, I studied Eastern religion and spiritual practices. During those years, I pursued several study abroad programs in Thailand, Mexico, and Italy with a focus on yoga, meditation, and energy practices. In 2007, I earned a 200-hour yoga instructor certificate. Currently, I continue to focus my work on body-based therapies and energy psychology practices.
About My Worldview
_____
I believe the identities we hold and the experiences we live, shape the ways we interact with the world. I identify as a straight, white, cisgender female, married and without children. I was born in Cluj-Napoca, România. At the age of seven my family immigrated to the United States; two years after the “1989 Christmas Revolution” that marked the end of communism in România. I learned English as a second language and speak it as a native, thus giving me the privilege of “passing” as a non-immigrant. Growing up I straddled two, often opposing cultures, Romanian values in the home and American acculturation past the front door. As a young adult, I began traveling and fell in love with the diversity of cultures, languages, and customs of the world. I learned Spanish as my third language while living and studying in Oaxaca, Mexico.
As a therapist, I’ve been privileged to work with individuals from various backgrounds, countries, and cultures. My eclectic upbringing and life experiences have enabled me to foster deep connections in my work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. My worldview and belief system fuels my desire to support those seeking to understand themselves, connect to their core Self, and reach their highest potential. It continues to be a great honor and privilege to support clients in their process toward thriving.
